Why you'd want to live in Sun City (55+)
Busting through the mold of what a retirement community has long been thought to be, Sun City puts the word “active” back in the active adult. If golf is your game, swing your golf club on one of Sun City’s 3 championship golf courses where you can play 18 holes in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Feeling like doing a different type of clubbing? The Village Center’s ballroom provides residents with an assortment of dance lessons and events including bands, comedians, and other shows. With both indoor and outdoor pools throughout Sun City, you can swim all year long. Looking to learn? From cooking to computers, woodworking to weaving, there is a class on just about anything and if you are feeling social, Sun City has more than 50 chartered clubs and interest groups as well as volunteer trip planners who coordinate bus trips and cruises. But if you just want to relax and do a little fishing, you can either sit by the water and fish for bass at the catch and release pond on-site or drive the short 3 miles to Lake Georgetown. Sun City is a Del Webb master-planned 55+ community. With a variety of home styles, from single family to Villa there is something to match any budget. Most single family homes are two-three bedrooms, two bath and two car garage and prices in Sun City range in the high 100’s to mid 400’s. Amenities throughout the community are plentiful and, quite frankly, too many to list. There are three activity centers located throughout Sun City that boast pools, aerobic/dance and fitness facilities. Other recreation facilities are scattered across Sun City as well. Hopefully never needed, Sun City also houses a Fire Station, complete with an ambulance and a Scott & White facility.
